Attended the Police Academy at the University of Texas Brownsville, and in conjunction with his police education he attended Police K9 training in Harlingen, Texas; where he trained alongside clients of Lanehaus Kennels.

Daniel found that Police K9 training was his calling, and in 1999, trained and certified with his first Police Narcotic K9. Shortly after, Daniel felt it was his duty as an American to join our Armed Forces and elected to enlist in the U.S Army’s Military Police Corps (MP) and was awarded the rank of sergeant. After training in the MP Corps’ Police Academy, Daniel’s duty station was in Fort Hood, Texas.

Much like civilian law enforcement, the military adopts the Code of Criminal Procedures and the Penal Code of the State in which it resides. At Ft. Hood, Daniel obtained his experience as a law enforcement officer by practicing Texas Penal Code in conjunction with the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

In 2004, Daniel Villarreal was honorably discharged from the military as a wartime veteran and pursued his dreams in training police working dogs and created Valley K9 Detection Service. While building the company, Daniel was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Degree.

Daniel has become a criminal justice instructor at a local college and has focused more than twelve years of his education and experience in the realm of law enforcement and all aspects of Police K9.

Our canine handlers, the backbone of our company, are hand-selected and trained and certified at the highest levels. Our constant training and certification process keeps our canine teams at maximum performance levels. Each of our handlers undergoes a complete background check and only those meeting the highest ethical and professional standards are employed.
